Update on the new Beretta Pistol

Well they've posted it on their web site now. What a let down, it's for "Law Enforcement" only. Hopefully that'll change next year.

Why the hell is it for Law Enforcement Only?! Man that crap hacks me off. If its good enough for cops (who, by the way, are not above any law) its good enough for anyone else.

Heads... i understand what you are saying, fully. Heck i want one too. Form what i'm hearing, actually reading on the beretta forum, is that Beretta has neglected the LE market for several years so they feel like they need to cater to that market. I guess LE agencys tend to buy more than you and I :) . I'm sure they'll figure it out soon enough and open it up to everyone. One thing i find curious is that if they have not been catering to the LE market, then who the heck are they catering too? It ain't the consumer market. I guess they've been selling to the military for too long.

After reading more on the subject, i'm now inclined to believe this is a little like the Cortislim guy saying his product is not for people who only want to lose 5, 10, or 20 pounds. Just a cheap marketing ploy.

Sounds like it to me too, marketing that is. Nothing is restricting the private sale of that firearm, the only way ot could be LEO only is by Beretta's insistance, but then dealers can sell to whoever. Should a dealer not wish to lose their gig with Beretta in such a case, I suppose we'll have to wait for a second hand gun. If BerettaUSA insist on LEO sales, I'll just go buy another 1911 and be done with Berettas. Hell, I like 1911s better anyway ;-)

Thanks for keeping up with this new pistol.

It's all about marketing. Similar to when Ryobi first came to the U.S. market with power tools. First they sold their higher grade line of equipment to the construction market. So when they finally introduced their consumer grade products via Home Depot consumers felt like they were getting profession grade equipment at consumer grade prices.

Supply and demand fellas. Once the supply catches up the Storm will be offered to civilians.
